I am writing to share great news about WVL. The Northern Ozaukee School Board and I have a few exciting announcements in regard to the future of Wisconsin Virtual Learning, and the exceptional education we provide each of our students.
ê At the January Board meeting, the Board approved a proposal for the administration, in collaboration with the National Network of Digital Schools (NNDS), to pursue a charter school grant to develop and implement the Wisconsin Virtual Learning STEM Academy in 2011-12. If the charter school grant is received, this will be a new learning opportunity provided by WVL for high school-age students who wish to design a personalized learning program with an emphasis in science, technology, engineering, and math. This ground-breaking initiative will offer our students an opportunity for a world-class STEM education.
ê In February, WVL is looking forward to a very successful admissions program, designed to welcome students across the state to our school and its many opportunities for our students.
ê At the regular March meeting, the Board will further demonstrate its commitment to our virtual school by approving a new five-year charter to Wisconsin Virtual Learning. This means a strong commitment by the board, the administration, faculty, and staff to the future of WVL. We will continue to work to make WVL the finest virtual school in the country.
Wisconsin Virtual Learning is on course for a bright and long future. We sincerely hope your family will join us as we continue to provide tomorrow's education today! For more information on how to enroll, please visit http://www.wisconsinvl.net/.
Sincerely,

William R. Harbron, Ed.D.
